The Cognitive Psychology Lab at UTN examines human memory, focusing on representations and repercussions of artificial intelligence in the human mind. In particular, two current PhD projects examine i) how the use of artificial intelligence tools affects learning and long-term memory and ii) how technological advancements, such as in artificial intelligence, are represented in the human mind, with a particular focus on how what is remembered about technological progress in the past may inform anticipation of technological progress in the future. In the context of a retreat at Kloster Speinshart, the lab group aims to refocus current projects and engage in deep collaborative discussions around interactions between artificial intelligence and the human mind, planning next steps as well as generating novel ideas and approaches.
