ASM–BioMAC Research Summit

The ASM–BioMAC Research Summit project aims to fill a key gap in the integrated modeling and control of human–machine systems. On the one hand, ASM focuses on developing, evaluating and optimizing advanced mechatronic and robotic technologies. On the other hand, the BioMAC team brings a strong expertise in biomechanical modeling and movement analysis. However, a coherent framework linking human physiology, behavior and adaptive control of machines is still missing. This disconnection continues to limit progress in next-generation, portable, and interactive robotic support systems.

This summit will serve as a starting point for the definition of a joint ASM-BioMAC research program focused on the integration of biomechanical data by AI with mechatronics design. Combining the expertise of both teams will allow the development of both data-drive and physics-informed models for adaptive human-computer interaction. Through structured discussions and exchanges, participants will identify concrete opportunities for joint projects, shared datasets and methodological collaboration. This will lay the groundwork for competitive research proposals in emerging areas such as AI-enhanced wearable robotics and personalized assistive systems. Ultimately, the retreat aims to foster impactful interdisciplinary research based on sound scientific principles.

Please note: This is just an information regarding events taking place at SSC; public attendance is therefore not possible due to the character of the retreat.
