The NLLG 2026 retreat will foster collaboration within the NLLG group, headed by Prof. Dr. Steffen Eger, and across similar groups from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and Linz. Thematically, the retreat will contain the following elements: tutorials and poster sessions, individual talks, and sketching of collaboration ideas for papers and grants. Another key element will be the writing of a joint paper, which can either be directly published or will be the basis for a subsequent paper. The paper is designed to be “high-risk high-reward”. Besides that, team building activities (joint hikes) will foster group cohesion. The core topics addressed follow the teams’ core research activities and will be in the intersection of AI, LLMs, NLP and VLMs, addressing problems of AI4Science and text and image understanding, generation, and evaluation.
Please note: This is just an information regarding events taking place at SSC; public attendance is therefore not possible due to the character of the retreat.
