FORAnGen met at Hightechabbey

It was a great pleasure for us to welcome FORAnGen!

Generative design holds immense potential to transform how products are developed—by translating complex requirements into formal models and automatically generating optimized design solutions. Within FORAnGen, this approach is being leveraged to address one of today’s most pressing challenges: reducing the energy and resource consumption of our society.

The consortium focuses on enabling the development of products that are not only energy- and resource-efficient, but also robust and resilient under varying conditions. By extending generative design to include manufacturing assurance and sustainability assessment, FORAnGen is taking an important step toward real-world industrial application.

The collaboration brings together strong academic partners:

University of Bayreuth and Technical University of Munich contribute expertise in requirements engineering and software integration, while FAU Erlangen–Nuremberg and Fraunhofer IGCV focus on manufacturing-oriented implementation and process reliability.

Together, the consortium is developing a holistic approach to sustainable product development—helping companies create high-performance products while reducing their ecological footprint.
