From 14 to 17 July 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming the partners of the European research project BioFairNet to the Speinshart Scientific Center for a multi-day modelling retreat.
The intensive working sessions focused on the further development of one of the project’s key outcomes: the Green Information Factory. The digital platform is designed to bring together knowledge, solutions and emerging opportunities across bio-based value chains, thereby supporting the transition towards a fair, circular and sustainable bioeconomy.
During the retreat, the project partners presented the latest stage of technical development, discussed functionalities and user experience, and reviewed feedback gathered through stakeholder engagement activities. Workshops and working groups also explored how the results of the various work packages can be connected and made accessible within a shared digital environment.
Particular attention was given to the next steps towards the first alpha version of the platform. Once again, the discussions made clear that digital innovation creates real value only when it addresses concrete challenges, brings together different perspectives and supports informed decision-making.
Speinshart provided an ideal setting for this work: away from the routines of everyday working life, with space for focused discussions, interdisciplinary exchange and collaborative thinking.
