AI in Mechanics – Scientific Seminar 2026

We are excited to announce the upcoming “AI in Mechanics” Scientific Seminar, taking place May 17–20, 2026 at the Speinshart Scientific Center for AI and SuperTech (Germany)

This interdisciplinary seminar brings together leading researchers to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming mechanics, with a special focus on:

  • Data-driven modeling of soft materials and biological tissues
  • Physics-informed machine learning
  • Fracture mechanics and failure prediction
  • Uncertainty quantification and interpretable AI models

The event is jointly shaped by the ERC Advanced Grant projects DISCOVERY und SoftFrac, combining computational, theoretical, and experimental perspectives to better understand how materials grow, adapt, and fail

Alongside a rich scientific program of talks and discussions, participants can expect an inspiring environment designed to foster exchange, collaboration, and new ideas.

Please note: This is just an information regarding events taking place at SSC; public attendance is therefore not possible due to the character of the retreat.
